It’s official: Xiaomi Redmi Note 7 arrived with 48 MP camera

After some rumors, some teasers launched by Xiaomi herself, here comes the first smartphone of the Redmi submarine. The Redmi Note 7 presents itself to the world as a low-cost solution, but with features that put it on a new level. That’s with its 48 MP camera. In accordance with all the rumours and leaks that we have made known here, we finally have the official product. In fact, Xiaomi’s CEO had already mentioned its price.

At the moment there are very few Android manufacturers that can rival Xiaomi in this segment. Producing an affordable smartphone that is still full of captivating features is undoubtedly a feat that only Xiaomi has been used to. That’s why it’s time to get to know the Redmi Note 7 and we’re immediately given a great price. In China, your home market, the smartphone will cost 999 Yuan, about 127€, in direct conversion.

First of all we have a double camera at its rear with two vertically aligned sensors. The first, manufactured by Samsung, features a resolution of 48 megapixels. The second has a resolution of 5 megapixels.

You’ll naturally wonder why such a pixel count is taking place. Well, with this large quantity Xiaomi can implement Pixel binding technology. In other words, the junction of the information present in adjacent pixels to create a final image with more detail and higher contrast.

At the same time your front camera won’t leave you disappointed with your 13MP sensor at the top of the screen. It also features the integration of artificial intelligence (AI) to not only retouch the image but also provide the bokeh effect. We also have the unlocking of the smartphone mediated by facial recognition, among other functions.

In this field, we must take into account the history of Xiaomi, which has been offering solutions given increasingly better in terms of photography, in its various ranges.

Its large IPS LCD display is 6.3 inches diagonal. Its resolution reaches the FullHD+ standard, therefore with 2340 x 1080 pixels. We can also mention its drop-shaped notch where the front camera rests.

Still looking at the screen we can mention the protection afforded by Corning’s Gorilla Glass 5 glass. In a final note, its screen occupies about 84% of the area of the front panel.

Then there’s the processor, the core or heart of every smartphone. So here’s the Snapdragon 660 from US-based Qualcomm. Looking more closely at your SoC we have here a mid-range platform. It consists of 8 Kryo 260 cores with a maximum frequency of 2.2Ghz. Here as well as a 64-bit architecture and a 14nm lithography. We also find, in its base version, a total of 3 GB of RAM as well as 32 GB of internal storage. In its intermediate version we have 4 GB + 64 GB and in its top version we have 6 GB + 64 GB.

Then to power this Android smartphone there is a battery with 4000mAh capacity. What’s more, Xiaomi has equipped this terminal with Quick Charge 4.0 fast charging technology.

It should also be noted that the Redmi Note 7 is the first Redmi smartphone to be equipped with a USB Type C port. A very welcome novelty that also allows new speeds of loading and data transfer.

The software on this smartphone is Google’s Android Pie 9.0 operating system. This is the basis for the brand’s own interface, its latest and best-known MIUI 10.

According to Xiaomi herself, the first smartphone on her submarket will arrive on the market on 15 January. Prices start at €127 for the 3/32GB base version. The intermediate version of the Redmi Note 7 costs the equivalent of €154 with 4/64GB. Finally, the top version costs the equivalent of 180€ with 6GB/64GB.

Note also that all versions can use a microSD memory card up to 256GB for extra storage. This will occupy the second hybrid slot for SIM or microSD cards. Finally, Xiaomi’s Redmi Note 7 smartphone is available in three color schemes. First we have the Blue gradient, followed by the Pink gradient and finally the Black, in solid color. Xiaomi has also made it clear that it intends to launch a Pro version of this new Android smartphone. However, it did not clarify when it intended to launch this second device from its new sub-brand, Redmi.
