The Mi 8 Lite is a new midrange smartphone from Xiaomi with quite interesting technical data. Inside is a Snapdragon 660, a dual camera and Full-HD display. Also nice to look at is the glass back of the smartphone, which is designed with colour gradients.
The Xiaomi Mi 8 Lite has a 6.26 inch IPS display with a resolution of 2280 x 1080 pixels. In contrast to the normal Mi 8, it is an IPS instead of AMOLED display. Without any surprise, Xiaomi has also installed a notch at the upper end of the Mi 8 Lite display in order to make the frame as borderless as possible. It is slightly smaller than the Mi 8 and therefore doesn’t disturb the overall picture. With dimensions of 15.21 × 7.22 × 0.85 cm and a weight of 167 grams, it is comparatively compact and light. The glass back of the Mi 8 Lite, which comes with a two-tone Twilight look, is striking.
The Snapdragon 660 Octa-Core processor with a maximum clock rate of 2.2 GHz ensures performance suitable for everyday use. In combination with the Adreno 512 GPU even complex games can be executed without problems. Games like PUBG and Arena of Valor run even on high settings without problems. The system performance is thus on the same level as the in-house Mi Pad 4 and Mi A2. Android 8.1 with the Miui interface is used as the operating system, which offers numerous additional features such as gesture control, dual apps and a game booster. The Xiaomi Mi 8 Lite is equipped with either 4 or 6 GB RAM, which ensures fast multitasking performance.
The usual technical equipment includes dual-band Wlan (2.4 GHz and 5GHz a/b/g/n/ac), Bluetooth 5.0 and GPS. An NFC module for contactless payment and wireless charging is not integrated. The battery has a capacity of 3350 mAh (QuickCharge 3.0). Using it for more than one day should not be a problem. The device can be unlocked via fingerprint sensor on the back or with the face. The extension by means of a microSD card is possible. A USB type C port is also used. LTE Band 20 is directly integrated in the global version.
The Mi 8 Lite has a dual camera on the back, as well as a single camera on the front. The rear camera has a resolution of 12 (f/1.9) + 5 megapixels and allows 2x optical zoom. A bokeh mode is also possible, which can lift objects and people against the background. The front triggers with high 24 megapixels and supports AI features for face and boke recognition. The quality is, as usual from Xiaomi, on a solid level.
we regard the Xiaomi Mi 8 Lite as a real value for money winner. The smartphone offers sufficient performance, a good camera and a reasonable display. Now, you can get it just for $259.99 at famous mall Coolicool.
