The new Umidigi One (Pro) smartphone was added to the manufacturer’s Notch series. In contrast to the Umidigi Z2, it is slightly smaller and has a slightly slimmed-down data sheet. A rare highlight: Despite USB Type-C, the headphone jack is retained.
The Umidigi One combines a 5.9 inch large IPS display in 19: 9 format with a resolution of 1520 x 720 pixels (HD+). One feature is the use of a notch, the notch at the top of the screen. Here are sensors, earpiece and camera. The notch reduces the display edges and makes the device a little more compact. With dimensions of 148.4 × 8.3 × 71.4 mm and a weight of 180 grams , it is quite one of the smaller devices.
Inside the smartphone, the Mediatek Helio P23 octa-core processor with a maximum frequency of 2.0 GHz is used in a multitude of devices. The performance of the processor is sufficient for all popular apps , as well as a variety of games absolutely. Also the used Android 8.1 system should run very fast with the Helio P23. The system is completely in German. In both versions, the Umidgi One is also supported with 4GB of memory.
Other specifications include Dual Band Wifi (2.4GHz and 5GHz a / b / g / n), Bluetooth 4.2 and GPS (GLONASS) in both versions. Incidentally, both versions support a large number of global LTE tapes incl. Volume 20 . Exclusively included in the Pro version is an NFC module, as well as the possibility of wireless charging with up to 15W. Also, stereo speakers there is only in the Pro version.
The battery of the Umidigi One is 3550mAh or 3250mAh (Pro). We can not say why the battery of the Pro version is smaller, but the capacity should be absolutely sufficient for at least 5-6 hours ( 1-2 days ) of active display usage. The battery is charged by means of a 18W fast charging technology. The fingerprint sensor of both devices is on the side. Unlocking the smartphone is also possible via face unlock.
The camera setup of the Umidigi One does not expect any surprises. On the back there is a 12 (f/ 2.0) + 5 megapixel dual camera. The function of the second lens is not explicitly mentioned, but should enhance the quality of the photos. Bokeh shots are probably software again. On the front is a 16 megapixel (f / 2.0) large Samsung sensor used. As usual, the quality should be sufficient for one or the other selfie.
The Umidigi One is certainly not a reinvention of the smartphone, but combines good technical equipment in a compact housing. Umidigi also tries to win over the design language of the smartphone customers. The smartphone is again available in shimmering Twilight colors. Well, we also find that at least in the Pro variant, there is the possibility of mobile payment via NFC . Even wireless charging and stereo speakers are denied the stronger version.
