ALLDOCUBE KNote 5 2 in 1 Tablet PC with Intel Gemini Lake N4100

ALLDOCUBE KNote 5 2 in 1 Tablet PC with Intel Gemini Lake N4100

The Chinese tablet specialist Alldocube (formerly known as Cube) has the KNOT 5 a new 2 in 1 tablet on offer. The special feature is not only a fair price, but also a processor that we have not seen very often. Used here is an Intel Gemini Lake N4100 with up to 2.4GHz clock and Intel HD Graphics 600 GPU, 4GB DDR4 RAM and a 128GB SSD for fast memory access. For a price of around 258€ without or 296€ with Type Cover, that does not sound too bad. But there are a few more features that are interesting. I remember last month, I did a review of their other tablet phones ALLDOCUBE X1.

The hardware is packed in a beautiful housing whose frame is made of plastic and the back of metal. The frame is clearly rounded, which should provide a very pleasant feeling and the Alldocube KNote 5 makes it look slim and elegant. The housing cover is 9.6 mm. The housing has an opening for the speakers on the left and right. Interacting is via a 11.6-inch IPS LCD display with a moderate resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels. The performance should be pretty good. Particularly noteworthy is that the display of KNOT 5 is laminated with the 10-point touch screen. The annoying gap, which one of many China Tablets knows in the price range, so falls away. This reduces reflections for a clearer image and better readability outdoors.

As far as connectors are concerned, the Cube KNote 5 has a 3.5mm connector, a Micro SD card reader and a USB Type-C 3.1 connector. The tablet is loaded via the port and you can retrofit any number of additional ports via a hub. Possible are for example Ethernet, HDMI or several USB 3.0 connections. The Type Cover is magnetically docked to the tablet and communicates via a port with pogo pins at the bottom of the tablet. In addition to a keyboard, the Type Cover also features a touch-pad and a kickstand independent of the tablet, which can be used in almost any angle.

The Alldocube KNote 5 communicates via WLAN 802.11a / b / g / n / ac or Bluetooth 4.0 with the outside world. Photos can be taken with a 2MP front camera. Details on the back “main camera” are unfortunately not available. Probably dissolves synonymous with 2MP. The operating system running on the KNOT 5 is Windows 10 Home 64-bit. The tablet is powered by a 4.000mAh battery (7.6V). According to the manufacturer, this should provide for a duration of 8 hours. The Alldocube KNote 5 is available now and will ship in early June.
