The Nokia 7 is the fifth and final Android smartphone of the renewed Nokia throughout 2017. It is presented as a premium mid-range model that stands out for its high level of quality in its finishes, in addition to including a powerful camera with a Carl lens. The model includes Android 7.1.1 as a native version. The price of the set will start from 320 euros to the change after its debut in China.
The Nokia 7 display is based on a 5.2-inch IPS panel. It offers a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels and a density of 424 dots per inch. The screen format is 16:9 and is covered by a layer of Gorilla Glass 3 glass with a 3D finish.
The manufacturer has added a Qualcomm Snapdragon 630 SoC as a processor for the Nokia 7. It has a 64-bit, eight-core architecture in a configuration of 4 x ARM Cortex A53 at 2.2 GHz and 4 x ARM Cortex A53 at 1.8 GHz. The processor itself includes an Adreno 508 GPU.
The internal memory of the Nokia 7 passes through a 64GB eMMC 5.1 memory chip, although the smartphone is equipped with a hybrid slot for both nanoSIM and microSD cards, in this case up to 128GB capacity.
The RAM memory distinguishes two versions since the Nokia 7 can be purchased in models with 4GB and 6GB of RAM. In any case the operating system is Android 7.1.1 Nougat without graphic layer and compatible with the Android Oreo update.
The Nokia 7 camera is one of the main attractions of the model’s technical data sheet. And it includes a 16 megapixel sensor covered with a lens optical group from Carl Zeiss. It has an aperture value of f/1.8. Among other technical data, the sensor has pixels of 1.12 microns and is embraced by a double LED flash. As far as video recording is concerned, this is a model capable of capturing in 4K.
The front camera of the Nokia 7 has a five megapixel sensor with the size of 1.4 microns per pixel. The 84° wide-angle lens also features f/2.0 aperture.
The battery capacity of the Nokia 7 rises to 3,000 mAh and features fast charging technology up to 18W (Quick Charge 3.0). However, the manufacturer has not provided details on the levels of autonomy.
In the Nokia 7 connections chapter, the most relevant data are the USB-C and mini jack connection, as well as support for 4G connectivity, dual-band WiFi ac, NFC, Bluetooth 5.0 and assisted GPS for GLONASS and Beidou networks.
The official price of the Nokia 7 at the time of its introduction in China is about 320 euros for the model with 4 GB of RAM and about 345 euros for the version with 6 GB of RAM. For the time being, in October 2017, the manufacturer has not offered any commercial details for the European market, so the cost that could be charged during its passage through Europe is unknown.
Among the additional details of the Nokia 7 we must highlight the careful design and lines similar to those of the Nokia 8. The housing is finished with 7000 series aluminium and Gorilla Glass 3 glass.
