Following the successful launch of the K10000, Oukitel announces a new outdoor smartphone at the MWC with the Oukitel WP5000. Thanks to IP68 certification, the Oukitel WP5000 is waterproof, dustproof and shock resistant. One focus, of course, is again on the 5000mAh battery that will allow the smartphone to run for several days.
The 5.7-inch display takes up a lot of space on the front of the Oukitel WP5000. The edges are kept very narrow which was untypical for an outdoor smartphone. The extent to which the display is then better or worse protected against fractures will be shown in the first tests. The case looks robust and should be perfect for outdoor fans.

The WP5000 is powered by a MediaTek Helio P25 Octa-Core SoC and 6GB of RAM. The internal memory of 64GB can be increased by a memory card by a further 128GB. As the name suggests, the Oukitel WP5000 will have a 5000 mAh battery on the back, as usual, of course, firmly installed. If we are just at the back, here is next to the fingerprint sensor and the 16 (interpolated to 21MP) + 5 megapixel dual camera. The front camera with also an interpolated 13 megapixel camera should ensure decent selfies. Somewhat sober is the operating system Android 7.1. In 2018 you might expect Android 8 already. Whether an update will follow, we will see.
The complete technical data of the Oukitel WP5000 will follow in the next few days. Rather, we should be interested in the price of the new outdoor smartphone. What do you think about the WP5000?
