Originally funded by Kickstarter, the Geeetech E180 mini is a compact and economical 3D printer that is designed for both beginners and educational institutions, but is also capable of attracting the attention of more advanced users looking to make small quick prints.
Today we want to tell you about the features of this Geeetech E180 printer, which among other things stands out for its simple design and ready to use from the moment it is taken out of the box. So it differs from other mid-range and high-end printers that require an extended investment time that can even reach up to 10 hours. On the other hand, as it is a printer that is already mounted, the customization options are almost nil, so it is not an ideal device for all users. In this post we will tell you about the important aspects of the Geeetech E180 mini 3D printer, but remember that if you are looking for a similarly priced alternative you can also take a look at the Alfawise U10, an economical 3D printing kit that we have already told you about on another occasion.

The Geeetech E180 Mini has a compact design with dimensions of 28.40 x 15.60 x 32.00 cm or 11.18 x 6.14 x 12.6 inches with a weight of 4.5 kg, which unlike other printers does not need to be assembled as it comes fully assembled and ready to use. This is a great advantage mainly for users starting out in the 3D printing world, as assembling a low-cost printer usually means spending about 10 hours on assembly plus another minute making additional adjustments.
While it’s not the first device of its kind that doesn’t require mounting, the fact is that most are worth hundreds of Euros, so for the price for which the E180 Mini is available it can be very attractive to novice users. Of course, those who are willing to opt for this 3D printer should know that it has a small footprint of only 130 x 130 x 130 x 130mm, but this will not be a problem for those who want to create small parts.
In addition, its simple appearance resembles everyday devices, such as a sewing machine, without complicated elements that could frighten users, making it ideal for learning. It also features a full-colour 3.2-inch 3.2-inch LCD touch screen with excellent resolution and an intuitive interface that makes it easy for anyone interested in three-dimensional printing.
Another interesting feature of the Geeetech E180 Mini printer is that since it is built primarily for beginners and schools, it is safe to use with children, as well as other people not very familiar with the parts of the printer that might be tempted to touch all the components. This is because the E180 mini is designed with a shielding cover that prevents the user from directly handling items that can cause burns, such as the extruder, thus keeping fingers away from dangerous parts. Also, other parts such as the warm bed and the 1.75mm filament can be easily replaced without much manipulation.
Geeetech recommends using your EasyPrint 3D desktop application to convert STL files to Gcode and optionally send them to the printer remotely via WIFI. However, this program only works on Windows, so MAC users will have to look for other alternatives. You can also control the E180 mini remotely with the EasyPrint 3D application from your iPhone or Android device.
As with most 3D printers, the Geeetech E180 Mini can print by placing files on the included MicroSD card and inserting them into the slot on the back. Because the E180 Mini printer offers a minimum layer thickness of 0.05mm, it is a device with a very good print quality, even though its size and construction area only allow for small models.
