Xiaomi Mi Band 3, the ultra-cheap smartband could arrive very soon

Characterized by its small size and basic functionality, but satisfying for most users, the Xiaomi Mi Band 2 was one of the first successful smartband among the extremely economical ones. According to some information leaked online may have a successor, which will be identified with the name of Xiaomi Mi Band 3: the product appeared within a document for certification of Bluetooth technology used within it.

The novelty was reported by the Roland Quandt “leaker”, who published on Twitter the link to the product certification website. We don’t find a lot of information on the new model, except for the XMSH05HM model number and the presence of Bluetooth 4.2LE support for minimum power consumption. The device will be manufactured by Huami, who is the same company as his predecessors and who launched the Amazfit smartwatch.

We do not have at our disposal information on the design and technical features of the new Xiaomi Mi Band 3, but we hope that both design and feature design have been completely modernised. The second edition of the bracelet integrates a heart rate monitor that does not make precision its strong point, with heart rate monitoring that is practically impossible due to unreliable results.

It has to be said, however, that Mi Band 2 didn’t present at its debut profound innovations compared to the first model, maintaining the same form factor with rubber strap capable of containing the structure of the device, which had a form factor with very simple capsule. To catalyze the attention of the users, however, there was a very low list price and an unparalleled autonomy for the other bands of the moment, quantifiable in 20 real days of normal use.

To use the smartband you need nothing more than a smartphone, whose notifications are displayed on the small OLED screen along with the various information received by the integrated sensors. We don’t have any information about the possible launch date of Mi Band 3, but with the Mobile World Congress approaching, we expect it to make its debut in Barcelona in the next few days.
