Tomorrow the Meizu M6S will be officially unveiled, but we can already take a look at the specifications today. This is possible due to a leak of Promo material. Judging by the equipment, this will be a rather cheap smartphone of the lower middle class, which should still offer a decent performance. A drawback right away: the 5.7-inch 18: 9 display only resolves to 1280 x 720 pixels, but with a high-quality panel, this is not the end of the world, but you’ll notice the difference to a higher resolution panel, even if you do not look so closely.
Surprisingly, the relatively low resolution comes mainly because the processor in principle should have no problems even with 2160 x 1080 pixels. The Samsung Exynos 7872 processor, which is used in the Meizu M6S, offers a Mali G71 MP3 GPU. So graphic performance is not lacking. And the processor performance itself should be more than sufficient with a big.LITTLE set of four Cortex A73 cores with 2GHz and four Cortex A53 cores with 1.6GHz.
Furthermore, the Meizu M6S offers either 32 or 64GB memory as well as 3GB RAM in both memory versions. The smartphone is powered by a 3,000mAh battery. Too bad that Meizu still does not try to catch up with Xiaomi and squeeze bigger batteries into his smartphones. The cameras are each set to a single sensor. The main camera is according to the promo material with 16MP resolution, the front camera with 8MP. The fingerprint sensor has been shipped to the right side of the smartphone.
There will be no big surprises for tomorrow’s Meizu M6S launch. But we are curious about the price. If Meizu delivers a price hit here, the handset could be quite successful. This is especially true if the camera holds what 16MP promise.
