You’ll drown out every smartphone speaker! The dodocool mini speaker fits in every pocket and is ideal for travelling. At just 45 grams, you could easily forget that you have him with you. In this review you will find out how he performs in terms of sound and processing.
Design and Processing
In addition to the speaker, the scope of delivery includes a micro-USB charging cable, a wrist strap and an instruction manual.
The small Bluetooth Speaker is very simple and available in matt black and white. With the chosen materials, dodocool pays particular attention to durability, so the speaker is almost completely made of metal, plastic was used here only on the underside. There is nothing wrong with the processing – the speaker has no processing weaknesses. It is just 42 mm high and 37 mm wide in diameter.
In addition to the main function of the speaker, i. e. to listen to music via Bluetooth, dodocool has provided the speaker with two other small functions that make it a little smarter. On the one hand, it has a microphone, which allows it to be used as a hands-free system. During some of the test calls we made with the small loudspeaker, this worked perfectly. My counterpart didn’t notice that I don’t use my smartphone to make phone calls, there was no feedback or communication problems. Another funny feature is the “self-timer function” – Yes, you can really use the small speaker as a self-timer for the smartphone camera. All you have to do is start the camera while the speaker is connected to the smartphone and press the on/off button of the speaker – zip! the photo is already taken. Works with iOS and Android.
Of course, you have to keep in mind that the speaker costs 10€ and is really very compact. Of course, it cannot keep up with the UMi BTS1 or Enusic 002. It should rather be seen as an extension of the internal smartphone loudspeaker. The dodocool speaker is much louder, but at full volume a slight scratching is mixed in. But as I said before, it’s more of a funny gadget for the bunch of keys than a serious Bluetooth speaker.
Battery and Bluetooth range
The built-in 300 mAh battery lasts 2-4 hours (depending on the volume) and thanks to Bluetooth 2.1 it is compatible with almost all Bluetooth enabled devices. The Bluetooth range is stated to be about 10 meters, which is about the same as the free area. In closed rooms it is of course less than a concrete wall, but unfortunately the signal strength can’t do more than that.
