Yesterday we were all celebrating, throwing rockets and celebrating the official arrival of Xiaomi in Spain. When Xiaomi presented the official catalogue of products that I would be launching in Spain, I was very happy because Xiaomi had only offered products with complete compatibility for our market. A day later, through the official Xiaomi store, I found out that this is not going to be the case and the short list of two mobile phones has been extended with several models that nobody expected. The problem is that not everyone offers full compatibility with the characteristics of our market.
Mobile phones that Xiaomi will officially sell in Spain
Now the list of mobile phones that will arrive in Spain with Xiaomi has been expanded quickly and elevated but there is a problem that shakes some models. Before we talk about it, let’s talk about the models that have arrived along with the Mi Mix 2 and the Xiaomi Mi A1.
- Xiaomi Redmi 4A – From 99 euros in its version with 2 GB of RAM and 16 GB of storage.
- Xiaomi Redmi 4X – From 149 euros in its version with 3 GB of RAM and 32 GB of storage.
- Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 – From 169 euros in its version with 3 GB of RAM and 32 GB of storage. No 800 MHz band for 4G.
- Xiaomi Mi Max 2 – From 279 euros in its version with 4 GB of RAM and 64 GB of storage. No 800 MHz band for 4G.
- Xiaomi Mi 6 – From 449 euros in its version with 6 GB of RAM and 64 GB of storage. No 800 MHz band for 4G.
The reality is that I don’t dislike the fact that there will finally be 7 models of Xiaomi mobile phones that will arrive in Spain, covering practically all ranges. No model that is not on the list should have reached the market. The problem with these models is that many of them present a serious defect to be officially sold in Spain.
Some Xiaomi don’t have full compatibility with 4G
When you buy a product from China it is normal that a product may or may not be fully compatible with 4G. In fact, this is one of the biggest criticisms and concerns of many users.
We have already explained that it is not serious not to have the band 20 for 4G in Spain, the 800 MHz band that is used in some areas. However, if a product is sold officially in our country and does not wear this band is serious. Here we tell you the drawbacks of not having this band.
The worst thing is that some do have this band and will not be marketed in Spain.
When yesterday a Facebook user asked us if the Xiaomi Mi 6 would officially arrive in Spain, we had no idea that it would not because this model, in particular, is one of the many in Xiaomi’s catalogue that does not have a 20 band for 4G.
The problem comes when Xiaomi does have some models of the list with 20 for 4G and will come to the Spanish market without it as is the case of Redmi Note 4 which does have a version with 800 MHz band for 4G but will not be the one sold in Spain, or so it seems according to its official website.
Here you can see all Xiaomi mobile phones that enjoy the band 20 for 4G with prices that are well below what Xiaomi will officially offer in Spain.
