The 16:9 aspect ratio screens are being left behind to make way for the 18:9 screens. We’re seeing it this year, and ASUS is now introducing the Pegasus 4S, its first smartphone with this ratio.
The Chinese manufacturer climbs onto the cart with full screen devices. At the beginning of October we learned about this model after its passage through TENAA, under the name ASUS X018DC, now the company announces it officially. Want to see what it’s like and what it has to offer?
ASUS Pegasus 4S: 18:9 display and dual camera
The panel is 5.7 inches in size and features HD+ resolution (1440 x 720 pixels). With the 18:9 aspect ratio, you can have this size and be comfortable in hand, as it is longer and narrower. The design is quite premium, with very small side bevels and 2.5D curved glass. The terminal dimensions are 152.6 x 72.7 mm, with a thickness of 8.8 mm and a weight of 160 grams.
It is not a flagship, as it has measured characteristics. The ASUS Pegasus 4S has a MediaTek MT6750T Octa-core processor running at a maximum frequency of 1.5 GHz, so this is a midrange model. In terms of memory, it is available in two variants, one with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage, and another larger version with 4GB and 64GB.
It runs on a massive 4030 mAh battery powered by Android 7.0 Nougat. With such specifications and a display, this large battery should provide very high autonomy. At the rear, it incorporates a main camera that is dual 16 MP + 8 MP. For the moment, more details on the photographic section are unknown. As the image shows, the fingerprint sensor is located underneath this double chamber. An interesting detail is that it’s Dual SIM, which you can take better advantage of with these tricks.
ASUS Pegasus 4S will have a launch, which is intended to be exclusive to the Chinese market, as announced by the company. It will be available from November 9th in gold and black. We’ll have to wait and see if the first ASUS smartphone with 18:9 leaves China, and at what price.
