Two Android One

Beginning with the similarities, they are basically similar in that they are both Android One devices. If you’re wondering what it is, it means it comes with native Android. That is, they do without layers of customization. They offer a pure Android experience.

HTC also opts for its HTC Sense layer, which is present in the U11 +. As for Xiaomi, with the My A1 going for Android stock, but still betting strongly on MIUI 9. You can see a list of all compatible Xiaomi here.

Differences

The Xiaomi Mi A1 is a larger terminal, with a 5.5-inch panel compared to the 5.2-inch HTC U11 Life. Inside, although both are mounted on Qualcomm processors, the U11 Life processor is a Snapdragon 630 and the Mi A1 processor is a Snapdragon 625.

It’s a bit higher, but you’ll hardly notice it in performance, which should be similar. The 630 features a RAM speed of 1,333 MHz, and the 625 of 933 MHz. However, the 625 has a clock frequency of 2 GHz, while in 630 it is 1.8 GHz.

In the photographic section the differences are more noticeable. Because the HTC opts for 16 MP cameras on both sides, while the Xiaomi opts for a dual 12 MP camera at the rear, with wide angle and telephoto lens.

The battery is larger in the A1, with 3080 mAh, so it offers a decent range. The U11 Life, on the other side, remains at 2600 mAh but has support for Quick Charge 3.0 fast charging.

The connectivity section is very similar, although the HTC can boast Bluetooth 5.0 and NFC technology. Another point where it comes out victorious is in the resistance to water and dust, because it has an IP67 certificate while its rival lacks it.

Conclusions

Considering the differences, the HTC U11 Life is slightly higher than the Xiaomi Mi A1. But we must also look at one very important aspect: their prices. HTC’s is close to 400 euros, so it’s worth twice as much as Xiaomi’s.

Therefore, they are two Android One with different philosophies. Both are, however, very interesting devices capable of offering a good experience.
