Last October 30th we were able to see the first official OnePlus 5T rendering, filtered by Evan Blass. Today, it is the company itself that confirms its new smartphone and also clarifies the doubts about the presence of the 3.5 mm jack for headphones.
The medium-high range is becoming increasingly tighter, because there are devices with powerful specifications but without costing a face eye like the high range. The OnePlus 5T is a long-awaited model that comes to be the evolution of the successful OnePlus 5, which already works with the new Android Oreo.
OnePlus confirms 5T and headphone jack
The company has posted a pretty corny message on its Twitter account; a five-cup photo with its logo on it. But the important thing has come soon after, when you have confirmed that the OnePlus 5T will come with a headphone jack. He has done so in his official blog, where he has published an official render in which the aforementioned port and the speakers of his new model can be appreciated.
The author of the publication was Pete Lau, CEO of OnePlus. He has stated that “each feature, deleted or added, is based on an understanding of the user’s needs”. So it’s confirmed that the OnePlus 5T keeps the jack, something we’re seeing disappearing in major brand terminals. But the fact is that there are still many users who want to have this port on their smartphone.
Lau also added that one of the reasons why they decided to bet on keeping the 3.5 mm jack is the audio quality. In addition, he states that wireless headphones are not yet available. The CEO also refers to user feedback, noting that 80% of respondents still use the jack.
It claims that removing it or even adding a second Type-C USB port would be inconvenient for users. It doesn’t stop there, because you can talk about Apple and the other giants who have decided to forget about this connector. His words have been clear:”Sometimes, industry trends run counter to our fundamental beliefs.
An entire statement of intent demonstrating the manufacturer’s commitment to users.
What do you expect from OnePlus 5T?
As for its specifications, it looks like the power of Snapdragon 835 will be available, just like the OnePlus 5. Qualcomm’s most popular chip will be accompanied by generous 6GB of RAM, along with an internal storage capacity of 64GB or 128GB.
A large 6-inch AMOLED display is expected, with a resolution of 2160 x 1080 pixels. According to a recent leak, the panel will be Samsung’s. As for the photographic section, it looks like it will have a dual 20 MP main camera. It is not known how the front panel will look, but a filtered photo taken with the OnePlus 5T portrait mode is already circulating.
As far as prices are concerned, a leakage indicates that they will be. In any case, the OnePlus 5T is not far away from the details, as it is expected to be presented during the week of November 13. So far, the 5T looks great.
