Introduced the new Google PixelBook: know it in detail

The new Google Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL have just been introduced, of which we already know all the details. However, in Google’s presentation not everything has turned around these devices, they  have also introduced the new Google PixelBook. Do you want to know everything about it?

The new Google PixelBook is replacing the previous Chromebook Pixel. It is presented as the definitive ChromeBook. A 2-in-1 notebook of the highest range with pretensions to fight with the Surface Book and that comes more than prepared to do so. Let’s see what he will be able to do.

Google PixelBook, these are its characteristics

You sound like your design, right? If we look at it, we realize that it is a cross between the last Surface Book and the laptops of the Lenovo Yoga range, and that is that you only have to see your promotional images to notice the similarity.

It features a 12.3-inch touchscreen with a 3: 2 ratio, a fairly wide trackpad, and a surprisingly large backlit keyboard for the size of the device. As for the top, we found the same design that we saw last year in the Google Pixel, with a white band at the top where we see the Google logo.

Technical specifications

We already know what it’s like on the outside, but on the inside? Inside we find power to flow. Not for less, considering that mounts Intel processors of seventh generation. We can choose between an Intel Core i5 or i7, according to our needs, as well as the amount of RAM (8 or 16 GB) and internal storage, ranging from 128 GB to 512 GB.

To this is added a battery which, although they have not specified figures, will provide up to 10 hours of uninterrupted use . To load it, we can use one of the two type C ports that the device has. Yes, you read that right, only we have two USB Type – C. Welcome, adapters!

Google Assistant, now on our laptop

Not everything in the Google PixelBook is hardware, and is that Google has wanted, as well have repeated throughout the presentation, combine hardware, software and artificial intelligence. To do this, along with Chrome OS as an operating system, which we told you all the details , have included the possibility of using their wizard on these devices. But how?

“Ok Google, open this PDF”. Sounds strange, right? However, from now on Google opens the door to this command and many more including Google Assistant on your laptop . We will have our assistant at our side at all times, being able to access it with the command that we all know or with the dedicated key that we are on the keyboard for these purposes.

Google Pixelbook Pen, Who Said Pencil?

As it could not be of another form, to all good 2-in-1 it accompanies to him the pen of shift. Clear examples of this are the Microsoft Surface or the Lenovo Yoga Book. Google could not be less, and next to its new laptop, has introduced the Pixelbook Pen, one of the best stylus we have seen.

With more than 2000 pressure levels and a sensitivity of up to 60 degrees, Pixelbook Pen offers us one of the best touch experiences we have ever had, which virtually eliminate the latency between writing and digitization.

Also, it will be integrated with Google Assistant , and that is that by selecting different objects with the stylus we can know more details of these thanks to the Google assistant. Could we ask for more of a stylus?

Price and availability of the new Google PixelBook

We finally arrived at what we all expected, how much will it cost us to make a PixelBook? The different versions will start from a price of 999 dollars, which will be what will cost us the most basic version, with an Intel Core i5 and 8 GB of RAM.

As for the Pixelbook Pen, it will be sold separately for $99, which raises the total cost to $1098 in the most basic version accompanied by the stylus. Both products are already available for your reservation, but currently, only in the United States, United Kingdom and Canada . Bad news: we will have to wait some time until the Google PixelBook arrives in Spain.
