From the IFA of this year we get the announcement of a new mini PC of the brand MINIX, it is the model MINIX NEO N42C-4 a product that integrates interesting features that we have never seen in similar products. In this small computer we have a powerful Intel Pentium N4200 processor, we have three video outputs, has a Type-C USB port that allows to power it electrically and is also expandable in storage and RAM.
MINIX NEO N42C-4 as we say includes an Intel Pentium N4200 Quad Core capable of reaching the 2.5Ghz in burst mode and in which we find an Intel HD Graphics Graphics 505. To maintain this processor with good performance has chosen to mount a internal fan in addition to adding lateral perforations to the box. This model comes with 4 GB of DDR3L RAM but is expandable up to 8 GB working on Dual Channel as it has two SO-DIMM slots , as standard internal storage we have 32GB eMMC 5.1 MLC that we can expand with an M.2 drive internalwith SATA3 speed. This mini PC includes an adapterWi-Fi ac double-band with Bluetooth 4.1 that this time has internal antennas instead of the classic external antennas of MINIX.
At the level of connections the MINIX NEO N42C-4 surprises us with its triple video output, we have an HDMI 1.4 connector that gives us 4K @ 30fps, miniDP 1.2 output that allows 4K60fps and finally a USB Type-C 3.1 connector that allows us take video at 4K @ 60fps while we power the mini PC electrically so we only need a cable for video and power although for this we need a monitor compatible with this technology. We also have TOSLink compatible audio output jack, Gigabit Ethernet port, Kensington lock and 3 USB 3.0 ports. The default operating system in this miniPC is Windows 10 Pro, which makes it ideal also for industrial applications as we have seen with the recent MINI NEO Z83-4 Pro.
- MINIX NEO N42C-4 will be available in early October with a price of €269 depending on the market.
