Helio P23 and Helio P30, complete specifications of the new Mediatek SoC

The new SoC Mediatek Helio P23 and Helio P30 have just officially presented  some chips that we have been gradually getting to know and that we now have the official specifications. Some chips designed for the mid-range Smartphones and are a step forward with respect to the previous generation P20 and P25 respectively, although not as much as had been speculated, as they continue to be manufactured at 16nm and the filtered specifications are finally quite modest. These two new Mediatek SoCs will hit the market by the end of the year, although the P30 will in principle be limited to the Chinese market.

Helio P30 is oriented to the mid-high range and will also continue with the manufacturing process in 16nm. This new SoC would include Eight processors distributed in a pair of clusters, the most powerful one with 4 processors ARM Cortex-A53 able to arrive at the 2.3Ghz while the second cluster will also count on ARM Cortex-A53 processors that remain in a maximum speed Of 2.2 GHz. The GPU of this new SoC is a MALI G71MP2 ARM with a maximum speed of 950MHz, includes support for up to two 16 + 16MP cameras, support for LPDDR4X memories and DUAL SIM LTE Cat 7/13 modem with 300/150Mbps download speeds respectively.

Helio P23 will try to compete with the 14nm Snapdragon 450, although it will have very difficult this decaffeinated P30. This new mid-low-end SoC will be manufactured by TSMC at 16nmm and will feature 8 ARM Cortex-A53 processors with the same configuration we have on the Helio P30 and an ARM MALI G71MP2 GPU with a speed that this time stays at 770MHz. It also includes support for LPDDR4Xmemories, two cameras up to 13 + 13MP and the same LTE Cat 7/13 modem that integrates the Helio P30 with Dual SIM.
