The MEIGOO M 1 has been designed relatively classically and offers dimensions of 1 5.4 x 7.6 x 0.9 cm and a weight of 187.3 g. Due to the rounded corners, the arrangement of the cameras on the back and the thin antenna strip, it probably most closely resembles an iPhone. However, the 3.5 mm jack connector is located on the left top side and not below the USB Type C connector. The only physical buttons are the Home button, located on the front of the bottom, as well as the two volume buttons and the On / Off button. These are placed at almost identical distances on the right side. The home button is also equipped with a fingerprint sensor.
The 9 mm thin metal housing should be seamlessly connected to the 5.5 inch Full HD display. This thus resolves with 1920 x 1080 pixels and thus results in a pixel density of 400 ppi. The manufacturer states that the MEIGOO M1 is equipped with a 2.5 D glass with a contrast ratio of 1400: 1 and a color saturation of 96%.
The heart of the smartphone is the Helio P20 eight-core processor from MediaTek , which has 8 Cortex A53 cores with a maximum clock speed of 2.3 GHz and unlike its predecessor, the P10, 25% better performance efficiency. Add to that the Mali T880 GPU and 6 GB LPDDR4X memory. This should have enough power to play even more challenging games. For many games you have 64GB of internal memory from the factory but also enough space. If this is not enough, a TF card with 128 GB can be used.
The used battery drops with a capacity of 4000 mAh is supposed to allow 54 hours of call time or even 180 hours of listening to music. We assume that these values are somewhat high. On a quickcharge function you have to do without. For this the camera could turn out to be a small highlight. With a dual-lens camera and respective sensor resolution of 13 and 8 megapixels, a nice bokeh effect is to be achieved. The aperture is not quite as dazzling as with other smartphones with a light intensity of f / 2.2, but the difference to these is only marginal. The front camera shoots Selfies with a resolution of 8 megapixels.
Connectivity & Tools
With LTE Band 20 is for the German users of this smartphone already clear that they are thus also outside of metropolitan areas still have LTE reception. With USB Type-C comes the new USB standard, which in this case also offers an OTG function, which means that the smartphone can also be used as a Powerbank or as a host for eg a USB stick. A classic 3.5 mm headphone jack is also available, just like a hybrid SIM card slot.
The usual connection possibilities like WiFi and Bluetooth 4.0 are likewise with on board, as well as GPS . The scope of supply is spartanic, since only the charging cable, the network adapter, a SIM needle and the usage instructions are included.

Overall, the technical specifications of the MEIIGOO M1 are quite good. It sets the right accents and tries through a strong processor and an apparently good camera to address as large a target group as possible. Thus, the smartphone seems to be a real all-rounder without bringing great innovations with it.
