The first thing is to thank Orange , who sent us the device and, in this way, we were able to analyze the ASUS ROG Strix. The case is that the operator we are talking about is betting more on the segment of the most professional games, as it shows that it is sponsoring the Orange League – LVP, which is no small thing.
Aesthetically the laptop is quite attractive, something that has a lot to see that is only three centimeters thick. With eye-catching lines where geometric shapes are present, the orange-lighted colors it includes give it a special look. In what has to do with weight, this is 2.5 kilos . The finish is brushed metal, which is positive and gives it a differential touch.

Regarding connectivity , leaving aside the cooling system on the left side are composed of the following: Ethernet port; HDMI output; Two USB 3.0 connections; Minijack connection; And USB type C (all this on the left side). If we look at the opposite, what exists is this: the DVD player and an additional USB port. For the front is the multi-card reader. In short, well in connections, but could be something more complete if the optical reader had been dispensed with.
The team does not lack a touchpad of a simply correct size, not especially large – the fact is that is usually played with a mouse usually – and, the keyboard, chiclet type is illuminated , so it is possible to use the ASUS ROG Strix in places with low light. It comes with full numeric keypad and its experience of quite good use by both dimensions and touch.

The essential components, considering that it is a model that is not especially expensive, are an Intel Core i7 processor at 2.8 GHz and graphics card, is an Nvidia GTX1050 with four dedicated “gigas” -potent but not spectacular- . The four-cell battery in our tests has left us the same amount of hours of continuous play, so it is in line with the market.
The experience in playing is good, without great fanfare, but the truth is that all current titles are handled with relative solvency. Thus, getting 30 frames per second stable is something that is not especially complicated with the ASUS ROG Strix at a resolution of 1080p. By the way, this model comes with Windows 10 that comes with Gaming Center to configure everything that has to do with the laptop works with games.
The screen is 15 inches IPS with Full HD resolution that offers a good image quality, which is always appreciated (because its matte finish, reflections are a minor problem). The sound, on the other hand, is correct – although somewhat low – and comes with two speakers that are on the bottom of the ASUS ROG Strix.
Price of the ASUS ROG Strix
We mentioned the price of the laptop as something to take into account when evaluating the ASUS ROG Strix.
